Geoffrey Keezer's "Southeast Alaska Suite" is an outstanding multiple-movement work commissioned by the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra in 2005. This third movement, "Bowline", is ingeniously orchestrated to give the melody line to the bowed bass (hence the pun) and bass clarinet. Trumpet 4 gets some solo space as well. Brass ranges are reasonable throughout.
